You've done the healing. You're feeling clearer than you have in years. But the situation around you isn't shifting. In fact, it's getting harder.
The job that used to be fine is now exhausting. The relationship that used to work is now draining. The business you built with so much love is now a slog.
You start to wonder. Am I supposed to keep healing through this, or is this the universe telling me it's time to go?
The answer isn't always simple. Sometimes the healing IS the preparation for the leaving, and the universe is making the old thing harder precisely so you'll finally let it go.
I lived this with my old graphic design business. I'd built it from nothing. I'd poured years into it. And then it got hard. Really hard. Nothing was flowing, every client felt heavy, every project drained more than it gave.
I kept trying to fix it. Kept doing the inner work. Kept thinking that if I just shifted my mindset or cleared one more pattern, things would turn around.
They didn't. They got harder. Eventually I realised the universe wasn't punishing me. It was pushing me.
If the business had stayed comfortable, I never would have moved into healing work. I never would have stepped into my art. I never would have built the life I'm living now. The pushing was clearing the path.
Sometimes when things get hard, it really is just more healing to do. The pattern is deep, the lesson isn't complete, and leaving would only take the same dynamic into a new situation.
So ask yourself this: have I actually done the work? Not surface-level work. Real, root-cause clearing.
We're stubborn. We hold on to things that have run their course. We confuse loyalty with purpose, and history with destiny. We stay because we built it, not because it still fits.
Sometimes the kindest thing the universe does is make something unbearable.
If you're sitting in a situation that keeps getting harder no matter how much work you do on yourself, it might be time to ask whether the work isn't fixing it because it isn't meant to be fixed.
Some doors are meant to close. And sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is walk away from what's no longer yours, trusting that what's waiting on the other side is what you've been preparing for all along.
If you're not sure which one you're in, a session can help you find what's underneath. See how healing sessions work.
Have you been curious about exploring your own intuition? Do you wish you could trust your gut more in everyday life?
In the second half of the Beginner’s Spiritual Development course, we explored more meditations ...
The thing we want most is the thing we're most defended against. How the wall works, and how to let one thing through.
